Dream Pop Scrapbook Layout Team Challenge

So this past week I launched a weekly team challenge for my CTMH team. The layout idea used the Chantilly Paper pack, but I decided to use the Dream Pop paper. This particular pattern paper is my favorite as the images just pop out off the page! I used the orange embossed cardstock to create the base. I then cut the pattern paper at 10×12, layered the gray, and the pink photo box (4×6) all using the papers from the kit.

Each of the circles are cut at 1″ (I used a punch) and then stamped with the circle portion of the Perfect Fit – Birthday stamp set. The colors are so bright that it actually looks layered…love that! I then just colored one of the Wooden Shapes and added some bling.

The fun part of the layout was creating this pinwheel, which is actually cut using the Cricut Artiste. While the ‘sisters’ letters look like they are heat embossed, they are actually stickers. The Glamour Glitter Alphabet is a set that I have had for some time, but never pulled them out. Now I really like the heat embossed look without all the mess!

Retirement Card using Pun Fun Stamp

I needed a retirement card quickly one night, so I put together this card using the Pun Fun stamp set. The stamp set actually says “you rock” under the rocking chair, so I used masked the sentiment so I could just stamp the chair, kind of like a retirement rocking chair. I then used our alcohol markers to color it in. The “Wishing You Congrats” comes from the 4 My Friend stamp set.

The bottom has some layered Washi Tape and Shimmer Trim with a flower from the For Always Assortment. Simple and effective! I hope they like it!

Tommy Paper Layout

I am so loving doing my honeymoon pics. Only 2 years late, lol! I wanted to use the CTMH Tommy collection because of this pretty cranberry cardstock that comes in it. Plus, it has a nautical theme to it and so that looks great with this pic of me sitting at the dock in Cozumel. I was waiting here for the new hubs to get back from walking down the long, long pier to our cruise ship. We had gotten off the boat, walked around a little and then tried to get money from an ATM. His bank refused it because it was outside of the USA. I remembered there was an ATM on the cruise ship and suggested he use that one, but I didn’t wanna walk all the way back. It really is a long pier! Anyway this is where he found me and took a pic of me before I saw him walking towards me. Yep, that’s me just chillin’ in Mexico all by myself.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these CTMH butterfliles! I wanted to stack them and so I painted one yellow so it would show up against the other one. Adding a butterfly to a circle gives the impression of movement.

Putting butterflies in a line (staggered or not) also gives the impression that they are flying.

I thought this little cork wood embellishment with the anchor and crown from the Tommy collection went very well with the nautical theme. I think the red and white twine looks like a rope. Very cool!

This pennant is from the Tommy collection, too.

This “moment” is from a border strip off of one the Tommy papers.

Happy Birthday Card with Cuttlebug

I used a blank white card and then using my new Cuttlebug embossed the circles on just part of the card using the Spots/Dots folder. The stamp set is Joyful Birthday, which is a great one to have on hand when creating birthday cards.

I cut a 1″ strip of the grey cardstock from the Dream Pop paper! But wait, isn’t that embossed. Why yes, it is. But I flipped it over and used the regular cardstock side! Then I used a small piece of patterned paper from the same Dream Pop packet and cut it at only 1/2″. I then just layered some accessories from the For Always assortment.

Happy Birthday Card using Dream Pop Papers

So here is a quick and simple card using the Dream Pop papers and some Washi Tape. I first balanced the card by laying down the Washi Tape at top left and bottom right.

The top left is layered with the paper. I have one texture, cut a banner with a different paper, then used my punch to cut out the scalloped circle. I decided to cut part of it off to make it flush at the top. Then I used some Baker’s Twine around it and popped up the Happy Birthday sentiment, which comes from the Perfect Fit – Birthday stamp set.

More Dream Pop!

I can’t get enough of this paper. I LOVE IT! I decided to use the workshop guide to create this layout. Yeah, that’s the workshop guide I’m sending you for free when you purchase a Dream Pop kit this month.

I decided to put a little spin on it and instead of using 4 photos, I went with 2. Since the paper can be used for vintage things, I decided to get some photos of the Gateway Wind Quintet, of which I was a founding member. The paper highlights pictures we had taken after a gig in 2000. Wow, look at all that hair I still had! The top right is from a banner strip in the paper kit, and I cut it out because it says “This Happened!” I miss my time playing with them, but between marriages, babies and life, we only see each other all together about once a year….but we still play when we get together!

Cricut Artiste Mini Book using Dream Pop Paper

Here is a mini brag book I made really quickly using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and the current Dream Pop paper packet.

I cut all the pieces using the shapes from page 60 of the Artiste book. There is a cover and 6 coordinating shapes, ready with holes to put this together. The sentiments on the front are from a zip strip from the current special. All I had to do was cut them apart.

For the inside, I used the reverse side of the embossed cardstock to create little photo wells, which would be great for using pictures printed from your smart phone!

I am just loving this paper!! But everything coordinates so well that I can’t get enough of it. And believe it or not, I only just opened a second pack. ALL of the stuff I’ve been making has only come from one paper kit!

5×7 Hinged Display Tray

I’ve talked before about my work in Ecuador so I finally got around to doing something with the pictures from my recent trips. I have been traveling to Ecuador at least once a year that I eventually just stopped scrapbooking it all. However, after my book was published I thought it might be nice to document some of the main things in a nice little album. The 5×7 Hinged Display Tray was the perfect setting to highlight the pictures. And look at how easy it was. I really only have one piece of patterned paper and a print out of the Ecuadorian flag. The rest of the spaces are just photos I cropped. I recently did a presentation about my work in Ecuador and I brought this along with some of my other keepsakes and it went over well!
