Feeling French?

Hi Everyone!  It’s Sonya from Sonya’s Paper Trail here today with a whole lot of inspiration with a French theme.  I have a two page scrapbook layout to share with you plus two cards!  So grab a cup of coffee and let’s pretend we’re in Paris for a few minutes.
You may remember from another scrapbook page that I shared at Dr. Phil Scraps that I went to France in 2011.  The pictures in this layout are from the same trip and are of the Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral.  It’s a gorgeous structure and while I’ve been there a few times, it was neat to share this visit with my husband–it was his first visit to the cathedral.  Check out my layout:

Here’s the 2 page layout, side by side.  All papers are from the La Belle Vie Paper Packet (item X7158B).  I used Art Philosophy and cut the “rectangle 8″ shape at 11.5 inches using my Gypsy.  I cut it in half and that’s the large tan pieces you see at the ends of my layout. They sort of remind me of brackets when you cut them in half.
The left page.  Notice the sticker in the upper left?
And this is the right page.  There’s another La Belle Vie sticker in the bottom right corner.  I have to have balance in my layouts.  It makes me happy!
Here’s a closer shot for you.

I inked the edges of the sticker.  That large flourish coming out of the sticker is a cut that I made using my Silhouette Cameo.
Did you notice this title?  It has stamps all over it!  And here you were probably thinking this was a “stampless” layout…au contraire! I used the “Vivre” stamp from the Bonjour Stamp Set (B1414) and stamped all over my cardstock cut outs of the title.  It softened the title a bit and it has special meaning to me–”Vivre” means “to live”. I can’t think of a better hidden meaning that that for a page celebrating a day in Paris!
And because I’m still feeling French…here’s a couple of cards for you:
I must fess up that my papers came out of my stash and are not CTMH products, but these cards will hopefully encourage you to mix your awesome CTMH purchases with some items that you may already have!
First…a birthday card.  The paper is really busy, so all I added was the medallion (cut from Art Philosophy at 1.5 inches–found on page 55 of the handbook) and the Joyeux Anniversaire stamp from the Bonjour stamp set.
Here’s a quick tip–if you have white pearls, you can use alcohol markers to color them so they match your design!
And card number two…a thank you card.  The Eiffel Tower is cut from Cricut Destinations at 3 inches.

I stamped “Merci” from the Bonjour Stamp Set and cut around it with some fine pointed scissors.  Voila!  An easy and gorgeous thank you card in minutes!!
Thanks for checking out my projects today–come back tomorrow for more inspiration!
Au revoir!
